Privacy policy
PrompterCall is a desktop teleprompter made by David Barron. This policy covers the PrompterCall app. It does not cover LittlesLog or Challenge, which have their own privacy policy.
Scripts and settings stay locally
The app saves your scripts, titles and preferences on your computer. It does not require an account and does not upload your scripts or app usage to us. It includes no advertising, tracking or analytics services.
Microphone access is optional
When you enable Voice pace, the app asks permission to use your microphone. It processes sound levels locally to detect speaking and pauses. It does not transcribe speech, record audio files or send audio to a server. Stopping Voice pace, hiding the teleprompter, resetting it or switching scripts releases microphone access.
You can manage microphone access in your operating system’s privacy settings. On Windows, check microphone access for desktop apps; on Mac, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Manual scrolling works without microphone access.
Deleting and backing up notes
Use Delete in the script editor to remove a script. If a saved file cannot be read, the app preserves a local recovery copy. Your computer’s backups may retain copies. We do not provide cloud sync or keep a server copy of your notes. Contact us for help finding local app data or recovery copies.
Screen sharing
Your meeting or recording app controls what other people can see. Full-display sharing can include the teleprompter. Share a specific presentation or app window and check the sharing preview before speaking.
If you contact support
If you email us, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. Avoid including confidential scripts or unnecessary personal information. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention requirements.
